About Me

A designer, writer, and strategist focused on work that serves people, purpose, and impact.

BACKGROUND
I’m a designer, writer, and communications strategist who focuses on work that matters. My background spans design, storytelling, project management, and systems-building, with a consistent emphasis on clarity, intention, and follow-through.

I enjoy complex projects that require both creative thinking and structure, whether that means managing long timelines, coordinating across teams, or translating ideas into work that resonates with various audiences. At the core of everything I do is a belief that good design and clear communication should serve a purpose beyond aesthetics.

In my free time, I enjoy further developing my skills through projects like novel writing, video game design, smart home design, and freelancing to create logos and build brands.
WHY NON-PROFITS?
Non-Profits weren’t always the plan. I earned a degree in Business and originally expected to run my family’s general contracting company. During my internship in the Disney College Program, I realized I wanted to do more with the skills I had and work toward something that felt meaningful. Graphic design and communications weren’t paths I had seriously considered at the time, but after doing some research, I found dozens of nonprofits in my state in need of support. I decided to take it on and quickly fell in love with the work.

I’ve since made a deliberate choice to use my skills in service of people and missions I care about. I could apply the same tools to sell products or build campaigns I’m disconnected from, but I’ve learned that my best work happens when the outcome genuinely affects people’s lives. When I believe in the mission behind the work, design and writing stop feeling transactional and start feeling purposeful, and that alignment is what keeps me invested and committed.

2014 - 2018

High School Mission Trips

I participated in mission trips to Romania and Mexico, working with youth and helping lead community camps. During this time, I designed my first logo for the camp in Romania, marking the beginning of using creative skills in service of others.
2017 - 2021

Wonderland Camp

I spent multiple summers as a counselor and lifeguard at Wonderland Camp, a Salvation Army camp serving youth from inner-city Chicago. This experience shaped my understanding of the deep need for safe, supportive spaces and programs.
2018 - 2021

Disaster Relief Team

In college, I served on the LU Send Now disaster relief team, traveling to Georgia and Nebraska to assist with home repairs alongside Samaritan’s Purse following natural disasters. The work centered on practical repairs and direct support for families impacted by disasters.
2022 - Current

YouthBuild Communications

My professional career has been centered at YouthBuild Lake County, where communications became the primary way I could support people, programs, and long-term impact. This work solidified my commitment to nonprofit communications as both a career and a calling.
The Future

Changing The World Through Comms

I plan to continue using design, writing, and communications to support missions that create real change. By pushing innovation and thoughtful storytelling, I aim to help organizations grow, connect, and serve more effectively.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
I see myself working in the nonprofit space for the rest of my career. The work aligns with my values, my skills, and the way I want to spend my time and energy, contributing to missions that serve others and create lasting impact.

While much of my experience has been youth-focused, I feel a growing pull toward animal and environmental conservation. Protecting ecosystems, wildlife, and the natural world combines storytelling and advocacy in a way that deeply resonates with me, and I’m interested in applying my communications and design skills to support conservation efforts in the years ahead.

THE CRYPTID CHRONICLES
The Cryptid Chronicles is a young adult fiction series I’m currently developing. I first learned about cryptids from the okapi, one of my favorite animals that was once considered a cryptid before being formally documented. My interest in mysterious, unexplainable creatures has deepened since this discovery.

The series uses the idea of mysterious creatures living alongside us as a way to explore themes of conservation, discovery, and the protection of endangered species. By blending fantasy with real-world environmental issues, the project aims to spark curiosity while reinforcing the importance of preserving what we don’t fully understand yet.

I have also built a large following on my Tik Tok account @CryptidSightings, which has amassed over 110,000 followers equally interested and invested in Cryptozoology and the unexplainable.
ALMOST EXTINCT MUSIC
Almost Extinct Music was an early creative project I developed prior to joining YouthBuild Lake County. The concept centered on producing an album where rappers would create songs about endangered species, using music as a way to raise awareness and funds for conservation efforts.

At the time, I was learning beat-making and had artists committed to the project, but it ultimately stalled when I began my role at YBLC just weeks into development. Although it never came to fruition, it remains a project I hope to return to in the future as a way to merge creativity, storytelling, and conservation.
